Ana helps adults and children straighten their teeth and improve their bite. She has a particular soft spot for patients who feel nervous or self-conscious. Her approach is gentle, thoughtful and built around listening.

Finding your way forward
Braces for adults and children
Ana provides orthodontic treatment with fixed braces and clear aligners. She enjoys helping adults regain confidence in their smiles and guiding children’s dental development as they grow.
For younger patients, her work includes interceptive orthodontics. That means assessing developing teeth and jaws and considering whether treatment at an earlier stage would help.

Orthodontic treatment takes time. Ana wants you to feel comfortable asking questions throughout it, not just at the first appointment.
She puts particular care into helping anxious patients build trust. Clear explanations, a gentle approach and a familiar face can make a real difference when you have spent years feeling uncomfortable about your teeth or visiting the dentist.
Her view is that a good result and a good experience belong together. You should understand the plan and have a say in it.

Ana sees orthodontics as teamwork. She brings the planning and clinical care. You bring your questions, your goals and the day-to-day commitment treatment needs.
When treatment involves more than straightening teeth, she helps coordinate care with colleagues so the different parts of your plan fit together.

Ana qualified in dentistry in Lisbon in 2009. She completed her MClinDent in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in 2019 and has worked exclusively in orthodontics since then.
She joined Smileworks in 2022 and is certified in Invisalign. Her work covers both adults and children, with a particular interest in early orthodontic care and helping nervous patients feel at ease.
Beyond the dental chair
Away from the practice
Ana is a mum of four and the author of three published children’s books. Writing, reading, salsa and travelling are all part of life outside dentistry.
If she weren’t looking after smiles, she says she would be travelling the world as a photojournalist.
