Part of the Smileworks story

MJ’s mum was a GP offering anti-wrinkle treatments in the early 2000s. MJ qualified in dentistry at Manchester in 2009, began treating aesthetic patients soon afterwards and co-founded Smileworks Liverpool in 2013.

She earned a distinction in her Aesthetic Medicine master’s in 2016, completed a master’s in Orthodontics and further postgraduate study, then focused entirely on aesthetic medicine in 2022. Today, she remains a hands-on clinician at Dr MJ Clinic.

Your face. Your priorities.

MJ starts with a conversation: how your face moves, how your skin is ageing, previous treatments and what you hope to change. Whether you’re considering lip filler, Sculptra or facial rejuvenation, she looks at the whole face.

Skin quality is central to MJ’s approach. She selected the clinic’s Aerolase laser treatments, which are delivered by the skin therapy team.

Sometimes the best advice is to leave things alone. She’ll tell you when treatment isn’t right for you.

Experience when things get complicated

Patients are referred to MJ from across the UK and internationally for problematic filler, unexplained lumps and complications that haven’t responded to earlier treatment. Facial ultrasound helps her see beneath the skin, identify certain fillers and plan treatment more precisely.

That experience informs her everyday work: understanding what can go wrong helps her plan carefully from the start.
