Plexr Liverpool

Plexr is the miracle ‘lunchtime eye lift’ that’s got both men and women excited in 2024.   Most patients who have this popular treatment complain of hooded, baggy or saggy eyelids.   Unfortunately this is an inherent – often genetic – trait that worsens for many as they age.  If you’re looking to reduce jowls or creases in the lower face then you need Morpheus8.

Until recently surgery was the only option to rejuvenate this delicate area of the face.  The surgical procedure involves going under general anaesthetic and having the skin and fat cut from the eye with a scalpel.  Unfortunately this procedure (known as a blepharoplasty) is something many patients in 2024 are not prepared to go through.

*Smileworks have rapidly established ourselves as the leading provider of Plexr in the UK.  Because of the huge volume of Plexr patients we see, Dr Rowland-Warmann has decided to discount the treatment to be able to make more patients happy.  We believe everyone should be able to afford this wonderful treatment.  Take a look below at our offer prices and get up to 20% off your Plexr Treatment at Smileworks.*

Plexr Soft Surgery is a non-surgical solution to excess eyelid skin that rejuvenates the eyes helping patients look refreshed, confident and youthful.  It’s sometimes said that the eyes give you away.  With anti-ageing this is certainly true as the eyes are the focus of a person’s face and keeping them looking refreshed and alert is the key to a youthful appearance.

Plexr treatment is much less invasive than a conventional blepharoplasty and the healing time is measured in days rather than months.  Here’s Dr MJ Rowland-Warmann in our Liverpool clinic with a detailed explanation of the plexr procedure:

Your Plexr Procedure

Here’s Plexr skin tightening in action at our Liverpool clinic.  You can actually see the skin being zapped away and tightening as the Plexr device moves over each area.  This also gives you an idea of what Plexr looks like post-treatment.  The small brown and yellow spots will stay for a number of days following your procedure.

Is Plexr Permanent?

One of the most commonly asked questions we hear at Smileworks when consulting with Plexr Soft Surgery patients is, “Is Plexr Permanent?”.  This is a good question.  I think the reason people ask it is because they are comparing Plexr with other ‘soft surgeries’.

Although many ‘soft surgeries are not permanent, Plexr certainly is.  The plexr procedure is permanent.  Plasma  energy is used to vaporise the saggy or unwanted skin leaving areas of rejuvenated and fresh skin behind.  There is a healing process that takes around 2-4 weeks and patients must carefully follow their aftercare instructions to avoid complications like infections or hyperpigmentation.

We have to be careful when discussing whether something is ‘permanent’.  This is because it makes people think that their ageing process is going to stop or they are going to start ageing backwards!  This is not possible.  Following your treatment you will continue ageing and the your skin will follow your normal ageing profile.  Plexr does a similar job to a surgical blepharoplasty.  It removes skin and tightens skin in the treated area.  This will create a long lasting result that you will love.

Plexr is called ‘soft surgery’ because it doesn’t involve many of the unwanted aspects of surgery.  There is no scalpels, cuts, blood or significant downtime involved in your Plexr procedure.  This is one of the main benefits of Plexr over a surgical blepharoplasty.  There are other soft surgeries available at Smileworks like “Silhouette Soft’. This is also known as the ‘puppet facelift’ and lasts 3-5 years before the threads are broken down by your body.  So we wouldn’t describe Silhouette as permanent.  But the answer to the question, is Plexr Permanent?  Is a yes.  You can read more about our non surgical facelift procedure by following the link.

Many patients think ‘soft surgery’ means ‘not permanent’ but with Plexr that is inaccurate.  It is a permanent procedure and the results will not reverse over time.  You will age though and many patients will experience normal ageing following their treatment that might make them think that the procedure is reversing but it is not.  This is exactly what would happen with a surgical blepharoplasty and is part of the natural ageing process.  Here at Smileworks we offer treatment of the entire eye area including the upper eyelid, lower eye and the crows feet around the eye.

Having recently attended an initial consultation with Smileworks I can say the service received from the team was excellent. Emma was very professional, she is also knowledgeable in her area of expertise.

Had a consultation with Brian last week, who instantly put me at ease, who came up with a treatment plan, worked out the price of everything there and then, and was able to explain everything in simpler and more understandable way. Was put under no pressure whatsoever to book a following appointment, but I did so straight away due to being made to feel extremely comfortable.Had my first 1hr hygiene appointment with Zoe & Tay and the difference they’ve made in 1hr is ridiculous, came out with a completely different smile to what I went in with. They made me feel comfortable from the outset and throughout the treatment, explaining what the plan was. They’re excellent at taking your mind off things while you undergo treatment, whether it’s through small talk, music in the background or Zoe’s exceptional singing! Brian from my consultation coming in to check on my progress was a really nice touch also, shows how much they actually care and take an interest in you.Couldn’t recommend Smileworks enough, the whole team I’ve met so far are brilliant and work miracles.

Plexr FAQ

Here's the top questions patients ask about Plexr treatment

  • What is Plexr?
  • Plexr is a wireless handheld device (that looks kind of like a futuristic pen) which uses an electrical charge to increase the temperature in the area you want treated and sublimate (or vaporise) excess and baggy skin. It evaporates the skin tissue without affecting the deeper skin layers. It leaves you with your beautiful, baby pink skin underneath!
  • Is plexr safe?
  • Plexr is very safe! The procedure requires no thermal injuries, no stitches, needles, or incisions. However, as with all soft surgeries, strict upkeep of aftercare is essential.
  • Is plexr permanent?
  • Plexr is a permanent procedure and the results are long-lasting and in line with your ageing profile. This means it will not stop time but the results will also not reverse.
  • What does the aftercare involve?
  • Smileworks staff will provide you with aftercare information proceeding your treatment. Oxygenetix Foundation will be administered to be applied twice daily, to assist with the healing process and to help camouflage the crusts. Continue use of this once crusts have fallen off and until the redness has subsided. Anti-histamines will help with any swelling involved.
  • Does Plexr scar and what are the risks?
  • No procedure is risk-free, but the risk of scarring with Plexr is very low. However, DO NOT pick your scabs! Proper aftercare must be adhered to, in order to ensure the healing process goes smoothly and no complications arise.
  • How long is the Plexr recovery time?
  • The recovery period for Plexr is 2 weeks, but in some patients swelling and bruising dissipates within 7-10 days.
  • How soon will I see results?
  • Most patients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following 2-4 weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to get better results, although it is unusual for anyone to require more than two treatments!
  • Does Plexr hurt?
  • Here at Smileworks, we use nerve block to ensure your Plexr treatment is painless! The procedure may feel hot in places and there may be a tingling or burning sensation afterwards, but most patients do not complain of discomfort.
  • How long does the treatment take?
  • Typically Plexr treatment does not exceed an hour including signing forms and the consultation. Depending on the size of the area treated the actual treatment can take 10-40 minutes.
  • Who should perform Plexr?
  • Here at Smileworks we’re dentists. This means we only work with the face. This is why we’re the most qualified professionals to perform Plexr treatment on patients. Doctors, Plastic Surgeons and some types of Nurses can also carry out the procedure. Beauticians lack the education and skill to perform soft surgeries such as this and you need to be careful where you choose to get treatment. MJ Rowland-Warmann, our practitioner here at Smileworks, is one of few practitioners in Liverpool with a master’s degree in aesthetic medicine. Her wealth of knowledge and talent in this area makes her the most competent and experienced clinician to perform your Plexr treatment.
  • Do I need more than one procedure?
  • The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, the severity of the skin laxity, the desired degree of correction, and the individual’s physiological response to the treatment.
  • What is the cost of Plexr?
  • Plexr is certainly more affordable than cosmetic surgery and the prices of treatment will vary between clinics. At Smileworks in Liverpool, our exact prices will be provided at the time of your consultation. For cost breakdowns for Plexr treatment at Smileworks take a look at the costs section on this page.
  • What parts of the face can Plexr be used on?
  • Plexr can be performed on the eyelids, around the mouth, and larger areas such as the neck and stomach. It can be used for the following: *Eyelids and non-surgical blepharoplasty *Skin lesions such as fibromas, warts, papillomas and xanthelasma *Scarring (including stretch marks, acne scars and post-surgical scars) *Pigmentation and sun spots *Tattoo removal

Treatment Downtime Video Diary

Many patients ask about the downtime associated with the procedure and this is one of the big concerns with treatment.  Some patients don’t want anyone to know that they’ve had treatment but this is unusual.  Most just don’t want to look or feel unpleasant following their procedure.

So to give you an idea of the level of scabbing, bruising and downtime, here’s the beautiful Mimi with her downtime video that she kindly made for patients to give them a better understanding of what to expect.
