Dental Bridge liverpool

A dental bridge or Maryland bridge is a cost effective way to close unsightly gaps in your smile that might be making you self-conscious.  Apart from being unsightly, gaps in your smile can also make it difficult to chew food and lead to strain and stress on surrounding teeth, excessive wear and problems with your bite that may cause headaches and muscle problems.  Gaps (usually caused by decay, infection or gum disease requiring tooth removal can also lead to gum disease and fixing tooth decay with white tooth fillings.  So in general gaps are considered very bad for your dental health.  If you are looking for Dentures then follow the link here: Dentures Liverpool.

I’ve had my orthodontic treatment at Smileworks Liverpool over the past year with Eduardo and Kayleigh, and it’s been such a positive experience throughout! They’ve both been consistently kind, welcoming, and professional, which really puts you at ease.Eduardo made everything clear from the start, so I always felt confident in the plan. Both of them made every appointment feel calm and straightforward, which made the whole process much easier than I expected. Kayleigh fitted my braces and was gentle, patient, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time.Everything has felt smooth, well organised, and never rushed. I’m due to have my braces removed next month and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final result. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. I can’t thank you both enough!

The receptionist needs to be fired.Absolute shambles of a company.Took a deposit months ago for a procedure. Has no appointments at suitable times. When asked for refunds of the deposit she keeps asking for a signed refund form which she doesn’t send to us. When asked why can’t you process a refund for a procedure you can’t schedule she basically said, ‘it doesn’t work with my agenda’.Chargeback initiated because this company lacks basic customer service.Update following reply from Katie: -You can defend your reception team if you like, but the reality is that your processes are outdated and impractical. You took a deposit for an appointment that your own team cancelled, then held onto that money for over five months. During that time, you repeatedly insisted that we complete a form explaining why we wanted to cancel rather than reschedule, as if a simple explanation over the phone was not acceptable. You made it clear in your own email that this form was “required.” I can attach that email to this review if needed. What is particularly telling is that the moment this review went live, you suddenly managed to process the refund without requiring anything at all. That raises an obvious question: if it was always this simple, why put a client through months of unnecessary back-and-forth instead of just handling basic admin properly? As for your claim about having plenty of appointments available, that is misleading. None of those slots were out of hours, and your team offered virtually no flexibility. Trying to schedule something workable around normal commitments has been unnecessarily difficult. This situation did not require anything complicated. It required basic common sense and accountability. If you cannot deliver what you offer, then be honest about it instead of creating obstacles for your clients.

Dr. Eduardo provided an excellent experience from start to finish. I visited the clinic to replace my fixed retainer, as my previous one was bulky in several places and kept breaking. I later returned to have a removable retainer made, and both visits were outstanding.Dr. Eduardo made my new retainer perfectly. It is now smooth, thin, and very comfortable, which has made such a difference for me. Before seeing him, I was experiencing a lot of discomfort, and thanks to his work, that has now been completely resolved.I am usually quite anxious about dental visits, especially in a foreign country, but Dr. Eduardo made sure I felt comfortable and reassured at every stage of both appointments. He listened carefully to all of my questions, answered everything thoroughly, and gave me as much time as I needed without ever making me feel rushed.I am also very grateful to the practice manager, Katie, who helped me sort everything out and kindly fitted me into the schedule at the earliest convenience. That support helped me a lot and made the whole process much easier.I am extremely happy with my experience and can confidently recommend Dr. Eduardo ☺️

My experience at Smileworks is always extremely positive, all of the staff there really go above and beyond to make your experience a comfortable one. I want to say a special thanks to Hamza and Tey who explained every step of my treatment (which was huge for me as an anxious dental patient!) and reassured me the whole way through. Would recommend this practice to anyone, thank you again!

How do Bridges Work?

A bridge works by literally bridging the gap between the two teeth either side of the gap.  Bridges are made from tough dental porcelain and can withstand forces extremely well making them durable and safe.  Dentists call bridges ‘fixed partial dentures’.  The bridge is fixed to the teeth either side of the gap by preparing the tooth surfaces and then using strong dental composite glue to fix them in place.  The teeth either side of a bridge are prepared in precisely the same way as dental crowns. Bridges sometimes come out but many patients report having them in for many years and even decades without any problems.

The porcelain used to make your bridge is beautifully translucent and bright and will blend in perfectly with your existing teeth so people won’t be able to tell the difference between the real and the false teeth.  A single tooth bridge can replace one missing tooth and also multiple unit bridges can replace more than one tooth in your mouth.  They are simple larger and are described by dentists depending on how many teeth they are replacing.  We would say a ‘one unit bridge’ for one missing teeth or a ‘three unit bridge’ that replaces three teeth.  No matter how many units in your bridge, it is always anchored to the two teeth adjacent the gap in your smile.

For larger gaps, the bridge (or Pontic) must be anchored to two stable and healthy teeth for the whole thing to have a good chance of success and last you a long time before needing to be replaced.  Bridges are custom designed by our master ceramists in a laboratory and their finish is expertly crafted from a number of possible materials including gold, porcelain or metal.

Disadvantages of dental bridges:

Procedure and Aftercare

Bridges are placed in two separate appointments:

The two teeth adjacent the gap are ‘prepped’ which means a thin sliver of enamel is removed from them.  An impression of the prepped teeth and gap is taken and sent to the lab where a ceramist creates the restoration.

The bridge, fresh back from the lab, is placed in your mouth and once we are happy with the function and aesthetic of the piece, it will be fixed into your mouth with special dental cement.

CARING FOR YOUR BRIDGE

Here’s how to look after your bridge:

How Much Does Bridgework Cost?

Bridges cost £977.50 per tooth unit.  So a one unit bridge costs £977.50, a two unit would cost £1,955, a three unit would cost £3,942.50, and so on.  This is around half the dental implants cost making bridges an extremely cost effective solution for gaps and missing teeth.
